Services

The Allyn and Betty Taylor Library serves the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Health Sciences, and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. It is open oto the public during normal operating hours. Everyone is welcome to visit and use the collection.

Info Desk

The Info Desk is to the right of the librayr entrance. At the Info Desk you can:

There are self-checkout machines available on the main floor to check out and renew your items. You can check-in your books by placing them on the Return Shelf, that is between the self-checkout machines.

Instruction

The Kellogg room / Taylor Instruction room is used for instructional sessions taught by library staff.

Book return

Items can be returned to the Info Desk, placed on the Return Shelf, or put it in the book return bin located ouside of the Library's entrance, in the hall of Natural Sciences Centre outside Einstein's Café and is open after service hours and during academic study hall. 

Printing, copying, and scanning

On the main floor, there are three multifunctional devices (MFD) that can print, copy, and scan. To print or photocopy, you'll need to set up a PaperCut account.

Computers

All public library computers, except the "Guest Access" computers, have base and specialty software.

Guest Access computers require a login and password available at the Info Desk.

Specialized equipment

In addition to cables, chargers and adapters, Taylor Library also has goggles and lab coats available to borrow.

Taylor Community Corner

The Taylor Community Corner is bookable for student events. It is a space that is available to support student groups and club activities throughout the year. 

Guests / visitors

Taylor Library is open to the public during normal opening hours. You are welcome to visit and use our collection on-site. Computer access is limited but text-based materials and photocopying are available.

Lost and found

The Taylor Library has a lost and found. Speak with library staff about whether your item has been turned in. If your item has not been turned into the Info Desk, check with Western's Special Constable service

Library facilities

Taylor emergency telephones

Western Libraries has installed red emergency telephones in The D. B. Weldon Library, Law Library, and Allyn and Betty Taylor Library. These phones are connected directly to 911 at Western's Special Constable services.

To operate, simply press the button.

Emergency telephones are indicated by ET on the library floor plans.
