In memory of Bob's dedication and service to Western over six decades.He studied, taught and conducted research in the Physics and Astronomy departments. He was a world recognized authority on the middle atmosphere, particularly the night airglow. His board/committee positions included: Defence Research Board 1973-1978, National Research Council 1976-1980, Canadian Ass. of Physicists-Division of Astronomy and Space Physics 1984-1986, Institute for Space and Terrestrial Sciences [Founding member] 1987-1996, Canadian Network for Space Research 1989-1994,Centre for Research in Earth and Space Technology 1996-2001,Canada Space Agency 1998-2004,ALOMAR Observatory [International/Norway] 1997-2006,Canadian Foundation for Innovation [College of Experts] 2000-2006 Bob was an avid collector, reading books on fly fishing and philosophy and everything in between.
