Peter and Jean (Bowie) Lewington
In honour of our parents, Peter and Jean (Bowie) Lewington. After emigrating to Canada in 1947, they soon established themselves at Larigmoor Farm north of London, Ontario.
They managed an active farming operation, even as Peter turned to award-winning farm writing and book publishing. Jean typed all his manuscripts, providing trusted editorial advice.
They campaigned for rural waterways protection and legislation to improve pipeline regulations and practices affecting landowners. For his contributions, Peter received an honorary doctor of laws degree from Western University in 1987.
Optimists, their legacy was one of creativity and determination to improve farming and the environment.
