Dr. James L. and Dr. Margaret Whitby (2019)

Remembering James and Margaret Whitby whose passion for collecting antiquarian music and books gave them so much interest and pleasure. The Whitby music collection is mainly comprised of printed editions of music from the eighteenth to mid-nineteenth centuries. Through the Whitby’s gift of music many of these works will be studied and performed for the first time in more than a century. James and Margaret were both enthusiastic musicians who enjoyed discovering and playing less well-known chamber music. The Whitby’s hope is that now many more musicians and students will be able to enjoy the music.
