Weldon to partially reopen Oct. 12

With construction wrapping up in some areas of Weldon and progressing in others, library staff are working to safely re-open portions of the library to current Western students, faculty, and staff on Tuesday, October 12.

What you can expect
Weldon hours of operation |
October 12-24 Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. October 25-31 Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Visit our Hours page for all library location hours of operation. |

Weldon entry |
Check-in through the front entrance doors is required for all students, staff, and faculty to access Weldon. At this time, visitors and alumni can only access Weldon to pick up materials on hold. Please bring your Western ONECard and three-ply, non-medical face mask for entry. Remember:

Construction areas |
Access to Weldon’s ground and main floors and mezzanine are restricted to Western Libraries staff only. These areas are active construction zones. |
Study spaces |
Individual and small group study spaces are available on the second, third, fourth, and fifth floors. Please be aware that due to ongoing construction, there may be times when users are disturbed by noise. We apologize for any inconvenience. Note: Power outlets are available on all Weldon floors but not at all study spaces. |
Graduate study rooms |
Graduate study rooms reopen to students already assigned space. No further Weldon study room allocations are available for the fall 2021 term. |
General collections |
General collections stacks are open for browsing on the second, third, and fourth floors. Books can be checked out (and holds picked up) on the second floor. No-contact pickup service ends on October 12, as materials can be requested for hold and pick up at Weldon or another Western Libraries location via our Omni catalogue. |
WiFi, printing, and computers |
WiFi is accessible across all floors at Weldon. Limited printing, copying, and scanning is available on the second floor. A small number of computer stations are available on the second floor; priority use will be given to those searching for print collections. |
Archives, Maps, and Special Collections |
Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon and 2:30 p.m. Email to request an appointment. A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is needed to request materials and to confirm your appointment day/time. |
Centre for Teaching and Learning |
The Centre for Teaching and Learning space is unavailable due to Weldon construction. If you require support, please email ctl@uwo.ca. |
Access Lab |
The Access Lab space is unavailable due to Weldon construction. If you require Access Lab services, please email ase@uwo.ca. |
Writing Support Centre |
The Writing Support Centre space is unavailable due to Weldon construction. If you require writing support services, please email wsc@uwo.ca. |
