DMTI Spatial Clutter

The DMTI Spatial clutter data is an 11-class land use raster dataset based on the National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) 1:50,000 scale maps. This data set is tiled by National Topographic Series (NTS) map boundaries and may be requested by NTS sheet number (example 40I/14 for South London/St. Thomas area).

Coordinate system: Geographic (Lat. and Long.) - NAD 83.
Source format: ASCII text Raster Grids (ArcGIS/ArcView)
Pixel Size: 30 metres
Released: 2004.

Restrictions on Access

This resource is available to University of Western Ontario students, faculty and staff for academic, research or personal reasons. Patrons will be required to present a valid UWO ID card and sign a release form when requesting the data. Data must be requested in person at the Map and Data Centre Reference desk.  This data resource has been made available to Canadian educational institutions through subscription to DMTI's SMART program.

Data Manipulation / Usage

The Map and Data Centre has 2 GIS workstations equipped with ArcGIS 10.0 and other software to explore/manipulate the data.  UWO users may also copy requested resources to a data storage device (ex. USB flash drive, CD-R) for research or teaching use outside of the library.  DMTI Spatial Inc. must be cited in any maps or graphics generated.
